Howdy Pardners,
Morongo Valley Trail Riders are proud to announce our participation in the world record attempt to raise funds for horse rescues and charities, to be held on June 13, 2010. We will meet at Covington Park in Morongo Valley for an outstanding and scenic desert ride. This area is famous for "birders" as there are hundreds of bird species here. There are plenty of shade trees in the park, beautiful views of Mt. San Jacinto and Mt. San Gorgonio and expansive desert vistas. We are in the high desert at about 2500 feet elevation so our weather is 10-15 degrees cooler than the lower desert. The park has trailer parking, restrooms and water available. The trails are fine for the novice rider and have areas that will challenge the more advanced horse and rider. We will have coffee and muffins available for breakfast. Lunch will be delivered to you upon your return from your ride from our own Morongo Cafe. We will have a variety of burgers and sandwiches from which to choose. Entertainment will be provided by Richard and may include John Wayne imitations, dancing and square dance calling for those wantin to kick up their heels after they ride. We are so very excited to be a part of this historical day for the horse. Come join us for some fine trail riding, fine horse training and fine folk and be a part of this work for the horse rescues! It will be a great day, an historic day for us and for the noblest of creatures, the horse. Further information can be found at the ACTHA website and please feel free to give me, Claudia, a call at 760 799.4506. See you there!
