Taylorsville, KY

Whispering Oaks Farm of Ky was orginally purchased by my Grandfather in 1902. The land includes almost 400 acres of Salt River bottoms and sloping hill sides. From atop the hill one can look down on the salt river and see highway 55 heading south. The views atop the hill is spectacular. In the winter one can see parts of highway 44 and houses that branch off of it.

We have a 100 acres of woodland that contain deer trails. A ride may afford the opportunity to jump turkey or deer. To the south of the upper field we look across the fence to a pasture ripe with white clover and a herd of angus mixed cows with their young calves.

The woods have a variety of native trees. There is everything from wild cherry to hickory and walnuts. The woods contain babbling brooks that weave in and out of the dense woodland. Coming out of the north eastern end of the trail and heading west the ride takes you into an opening that is lush summer forge. Again a paradise for wild game.

Another trail will wind through the woods as you leave the open hay field atop a ridge. Look up. We have seen Eagles from this area. It is a rare sight to see the symbol of our great country catching draft after draft of air to fly effortly through the clear blue sky. It was a rare joy the first time we saw an Eagle. It is always a grand occassion to see two or three of them flapping their great wings to catch the next air draft.

We look forward to seeing you August 21, 2010 as you join us for our CTC. This event is planned by the Lipginski Family and friends and we invite you to join us for a day of riding, competition, food and entertainment.

World Renowned Trail Ride Critic Dutch Henry`s Ride Proclamation for-

Whispering Oaks Farm CTC Taylorsville KY 8-21-2010

Howdy Folks,

Mary Lipginski and the family at Whispering Oaks Farm are invitin` you to come and visit. And while you`re there take a little Challenge. An American Competitive Trail Horse (ACTHA) sanctioned challenge, that is. They call them Competitive Trail Challenges (CTC). Six miles of beautiful trail riddin` with family and friends, with six obstacles tossed in to test your horse communicatin` skills…And to give the judges somethin` to judge so they can give away piles of winnin`s, prizes, and awards!

Set up camp Friday night, call Mary to reserve a campsite, first come first served. There is plenty of Cowboy Campin` available in the meadow. One camper available with full amenities. They`ve got a few stalls, a round pen and a small arena, too.

There`s gonna be singing around the campfire Friday night, Mary`s bringing the fixin`s for Smore`s; you bring the guitar and music. Arrivin` Saturday morning is okay too, just be on time for coffee, buns and vistin` at 8a.m. Ride Briefing at 9a.m. Ride Out at 10:00.

Because Mary is so dang proud of Whispering Oaks, she`s taken special care to map out a route that`ll showcase the beauty of the outfit from the quiet woodland trails to the open meadows to the view from the highest ridge clean to the Salt River. So enjoy the ride, the company, your horse and the scenery!

After the ride the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will be servin` up lunch while the judges study the score sheets and divvy up all the great winnin`s, prizes and awards. Mary`ll be judgin` best dressed Gal and Guy, and Best Groomed horse then too. So clean up pretty! Check with the photographer and buy your photos so you can show all your friends who missed the action. Folks this event includes a fund raiser for the VFW Ladies Auxiliary so be sure to sign onto the 50/50 jackpot. Take your time and have a look at the items up for bid at the Silent Auction, too.

I hear Whispering Oaks is one of the most beautiful places in three states! It is still a workin` farm, and has been family owned since 1902! On their 400 acres they run some momma cows, and breed, sell and show, Rocky Mountain horses. So call your friends and plan a family get-together and have some fun while you ride for a couple of great causes! Mary`s promisin` a humdinger of a time!

Go to www.actha.us to register for this ride, and look around the website to learn all about ACTHA – and their mission to help horse charities and rescues all across the USA. How they gave $100,000 to horse charities last year, and will give more than $500,000 this year!

Call Mary 502-298-3626 for Up To The Minute information about this ride. Information will also be available at www.whisperingoaksfarm-mary.com.
