World Renowned Trail Ride Critic Dutch Henry`s Ride Proclamation for-
Last Lapp Competitive Trail Challenge - Corning NY - 8-07-2010
Howdy Folks,
Therese White and Jennifer Deneka are puttin` on a weekend of family fun complete with trail riddin`, campfires, a kiddy scavenger hunt, with a few trail obstacles tossed in. Yes sir, with help from the Finger Lakes SPCA volunteers, they`re bringing ACTHA to your back yard!
Roll in Friday night and set up primitive camp in the meadow, then mosey over to the Get-To-Know-Campfire. There will be a stack of fixin`s for Smore`s, lots of story tellin` and if you have a guitar, fiddle or piano, bring it and make some music. Jennifer will be on hand to melt the chocolate. You can arrive Saturday morning too, but don`t be late for coffee and pasties at 8AM - Ride Briefing at 9AM. Ride out at 10:00. Be sure to see Jennifer to sign up for the Poker Run...Best hand takes all!
The trail they`ve mapped out through the magnificent country side at the Lapp farm, is literally, "Over the hills and through the woods to Grandmother`s house." Six miles of stunning scenery, with six ACTHA obstacles, so the judges can do their judgin` thing. Therese told me nothing too hard, but just challengin` enough to be fun. And if you want to ride for fun, and not mess with the obstacles, you can do that, too. Sign up as a Buddy rider.
When you ride back into camp, tend your horse, then make your way to the chow line and re-stock your calories while the judges study the score sheets and figure out how to divvy up all the winnin`s, prizes and awards. Just for added fun while you wait, Therese will hold a scavenger hunt for all the children under twelve.
Folks this fun-filled event is a fund raiser for the Finger Lakes SPCA, who`s volunteers will be on hand helpin` to make sure everything runs smooth. They`ll be servin` as judges, runners, and safety riders, whatever it takes. So all you need to do is bring your horse and ride, sing, and have a terrific time! By golly that sounds like a good deal!
For up to the minute info call Therese 607-732-4246 or Jennifer 607-524-6114 or email [email protected].
So brush your horse, load your rig, gather the family and head for the Lapp farm for a great time!
Gitty Up!
