World Renowned Trail Ride Critic Dutch Henry`s Ride Proclamation for-

DD Ranch Summer Fun CTC - Lonedell, MO 7-24 & 25-2010

Howdy Folks,

The Edwards clan is invitin` you to a weekend jam packed with family fun and great ridin`! Two ACTHA Rides in one weekend! Everybody knows when the DD Ranch hosts a get-together a great time is had by all – So don`t miss out on this chance to have a go at something new! They`re bringing the American Competitive Trail Horse Association to your neck of the woods. The First 15 riders to sign on will be entered in a drawing to win a weekend`s free campin`!

The fun starts Friday night with a gatherin` at Poppa D`s Watering Hole for his special BBQ, and some toe tappin` to the DJ`s music. Set up camp anytime Friday afternoon, and feel free to make use of all the facilities. As Dinell Edwards says, "We want everyone to feel like part of the family here." They have an indoor arena, box stalls, fishing in the streams, or the stocked lake, and tubes for floatin` down the river. If you`d rather not camp, take a room in the old lodge. Just come prepared to have fun!

Poppa D will rattle his pots and pans about 8a.m. Saturday and shovel up piles of biscuits and gravy with few gallons of `cowboy coffee` to wash it down. Ride briefing at 9:00 – Ride out at 10:00. (Ride times are the same for both Sat. and Sun.) Now when an outfit owns over 1500 acres it`s a mighty tall chore to select the finest six miles of the nearly hundred miles of trails at the DD Ranch, but Dinell told me she mapped out a six mile course that offers a taste of the beauty of the DD Ranch`s mountains and meadows. Ride out enjoy the trails, the obstacles, your horse and friends, and keep an eye out for the shutter snapper along the way, and you can buy those Tin Types bake at the camp store. Remember to brush your hat, and shine your boots, there are special prizes for Best Dressed Gal and Guy, for Best Groomed Horse, too.

After the ride head for the Watering Hole and have lunch while the Judges tally up the score sheets and hand out wagonloads of prizes and awards. Dinell swore me to secrecy, but I know she`s got very special prizes for each division winner! Be sure to sign up for the 50/50 Raffle, the winner gets to choose the horse charity to receive the proceeds – Speakin` of Horse Charities, the DD Ranch is a unique kind of rescue outfit; they rescue horses, fix `em up and give `em a job right here in their Remuda. How about that! If you want to take the ACTHA Challenge and don`t have a horse of your own, you`re welcome to ride one of theirs.

Poppa D will serve supper at the Waterin` hole, just before the DJ fires up the music for another evenin` of boot shuffelin` and partner twirlin`. And folks don`t break camp Saturday. Because you`re all invited to a guided ride Sunday mornin`. If you`d rather explore the trails on your own, feel free.

Call your friends and load your rig, then set out for the DD Ranch for a fun filled weekend. And watch their website for ACTHA rides in July, Aug, and Oct. -For all the details call Dinell Edwards at 314-503-7494 email [email protected] . Two rides in one weekend!
