World Renowned Trail Ride Critic Dutch Henry`s Ride Proclamation for-
Greenland Open Space CTC Larkspur CO 7-10-2010
Howdy Folks,
You`re in invited to a big deal Jessee Province and her band of volunteers are puttin` on at Greenland Open Space. Don`t miss out on the fun! I reckon you`ll want to be part of the first American Competitive Trail Horse Association CTC in these parts. Jessee has a day planned for family fun, packed plum full of ridin, visitin`, challengin` and winnin`!
Greenland Open Space is not only one of the many beautiful places along the front range of the Rocky Mountains to ride, but it`s also only a day trip from Pueblo, Colorado Springs, or Denver. Heck it`s only ten minutes from Monument, only ¾ of a mile off I-25 at exit 167. The trail head is located at the site of the now-gone 1800`s rail shipping town of Greenland. Part of the trail follows the historic Old Territorial Road and parallels the rail track still in use today, so you may get a toot from a friendly engineer. Happens sometimes.
The fun starts at 8AM Saturday with registration at the pavilion, which is a really nifty replica of the old town`s general mercantile building. Ride briefing at 9AM, that`s when you`ll find out about the obstacles and stuff. Ride out at 10:00. When you ride back into camp, tend your horse, then gather at the pavilion, munch on your lunch, and visit with your friends and brag about how well your horse did while you wait for the judges to add up the scores and hand out all the Awards and winnin`s.
Now as always at one of these ACTHA shindigs there are prizes and ribbons and such for the top six scores in each division. And Jessee`s got prizes for Best Dressed Gal and Guy, and Best groomed Horse. But in addition to that, Jessee has special prizes for Best Scoring Rescue Horse, and Best Scoring Mustang. She`s askin` everybody who rides a rescue horse or a mustang to bring their photos and stories and invitin` you to tell your tale while you visit in the old mercantile. You see Jessee has worked with both rescue horses and mustangs, and like all of us, she knows how special each and every horse can be.
Your competin` in an ACTHA ride helps to feed and protect a whole lot of deserving horses, so how about callin` Jessee today to sign up -719-749-0696 or email [email protected] .
Call your friends and tell `em to join you at Greenland Open Space for a great day of ridin` and vistin`. And ride for a good cause!
Gitty Up!
Dutch Henry
