HAPI Trails Competitive Trail Challenge - Linn Canyon Ranch - Victor, ID
7-10-2010
Howdy Folks,
Get ready to attend a hoot-an-holler you`ll remember and brag about forever. Julie Stacey of HAPI Trails, Inc and her merry band of volunteers are invitin` you to a jam-packed weekend in Teton Valley, Idaho featurin` an ACTHA sanctioned Competitive Trail Challenge! That`s a six mile trail with six judged obstacles to challenge your horse communicatin` skills. Never heard of The American Competitive Trail Horse Association? Come take on this challenge and get to know `em. Have a look at their website- www.actha.us – All you Outfitters are encouraged to bring your pack animals and gear to show your stuff during the ride and afterwards for some fun horsin` events.
This competition will take place at the Linn Canyon Ranch known worldwide for their hospitality, trails, great meals and great times! Check out their website www.linncanyonranch,com . Roll in Friday night in time to gather at the Get-To-Know-Ya bonfire. If you have a guitar, banjo or fiddle bring it along and make a little music.
Saturday morning starts early at 7AM with an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast cooked up by HAPI Trail`s volunteers. Ride briefing at 8AM and Ride out at 10AM.
The trail starts in camp then leads into the majestic Bridger Teton National Forest. Remember to smile for the photographer and cinematographer who`ll be busy capturing your efforts on film. They`ll have a slide show and film during the awards ceremony so you can judge yourself. And have a few laughs too.
When you ride back into camp, tend to your horse then head for the chow line for some of Trudy`s famous Linn Canyon Ranch BBQ. Enjoy the feast and do a little braggin` with your friends while the Judges study the score sheets and divvy up all the winnin`s and prizes. Don`t forget to pack your best ridin` duds because there`ll be prizes for best dressed Gal and Guy. Best groomed horse and the best dog will win prizes too.
By golly they`ve got more goin` on at this shindig than two county fairs! There`s a vendor`s row featuring local and regional western artists and merchandise from arts and crafts to food and horse supplies. There will be a silent auction. And holy cow there`s more – like horse clinics loaded with tips on how to improve your scores next time you tackle an ACTHA challenge!
And that`s all before supper! After Trudy serves up another round of top-shelf eats enjoy a night of dancin` and boot stompin` to the cowboy croonin` of a live band at the stage! Of course there`s no need to pull up stakes Saturday, you`re invited to stay and ride new trails on Sunday.
Folks this ride is a fundraiser for HAPI Trails - Horse Adoption Program Inc. an organization whose mission is to find permanent homes for abused, abandoned, and neglected horses. In just the past ten months they`ve successfully placed 8 horses, and there are several horses currently available for adoption, to learn more take a gander at their website www.hapitrails.org .
