Beautiful Echo Basin Ranch at the foot of the La Plata Mountains is what Colorado is all about. The trail for this ride will wander through the pine trees, up and down the mountains and through lush green valleys. Sheryl Lynde (John Lyons certified) and Rick Hoffman (Extreme Cowboy Race winner and board member) will put on a clinic covering ACTHA obstacles the day before the ride (Friday, June 18th). Contact Ron Tyner at 970-749-0607 to register. The ranch restaurant and saloon will be open for dinner and evening fun. Visit the ranch website at www.echobasin.com and contact them directly for cabin, and camper hookup reservations at [email protected]. Horseshoes recommended.

Agenda:

Check-in Friday evening or Sat morning before 8:30

Breakfast: 8:00am

Rider`s briefing: 9:00am

Ride out: 10:00am - 11:00am

Trail will take about 2 - 2 ½ hours, 6-7 miles

DIRECTIONS TO OUR RIDE:

From Durango: Go 27 miles west on hwy 160 until you see a large Echo Basin Ranch sign on your left, then turn RIGHT on CR 44/Echo Basin, drive another 3.5 miles north on a paved road to Echo Basin Ranch.

From Cortez: Go approx. 15 miles east on hwy 160. After passing through Mancos, drive another 2.5 miles on hwy 160 until you see a large Echo Basin Ranch sign on your right, then turn LEFT on CR 44/Echo Basin. Drive another 3.5 miles north on a paved road to Echo Basin Ranch.

Registration for this ride will close June 17th, (2 days before the ride date).
