This ride is located in the beautiful Quartz Creek Valley at the Quartz Creek 711 Ranch east of Gunnison, Colorado. The ranch is surrounded by BLM and US Forrest Service lands. The ride will start on the ranch at an elevation of 8,200. We recommend shoes or boots for horses as parts of the trails are rocky. This ride offers beautiful scenery; at one point you can see half a dozen of Colorado`s famous 14ers. This is a pleasure ride with naturally occuring obstacles and challenges. With normal temperatures in the 70`s during the day and nighttime temps in the 40`s it is perfect riding and camping weather.
Saturday evening we will have a Cowboy Campfire Dinner and entertainment. Twister the Trainer, our mechanical master, will be on hand for those brave souls wanting some additional entertainment Saturday evening. Stay with us Saturday night and join in the Poker Run Sunday morning before packing up and heading home.
Check out our website www.qc711ranch.com to plan a nice family get-a-way weekend.
