MC DOWELL MOUNTAIN CTC
This will be our third year at the park. The park is opening another new trail and the CTC will have the opportunity to follow this trail. McDowell Mountain Park is in the heart of the Northern Sonoran Desert with palo verde, mesquite, creosote and plenty of Saguaro. There are spectacular views of Four Peaks, the McDowell Mountains and the fountain in Fountain Hills. The trail is decomposed granite, sandy washes and a hill with a few rocks. Shoes or boots recommended. There is no restriction as to type of boot. Since the new trail is open we will have the opportunity for more natural obstacles than before. The ride will be approximately 8 miles long. To assure we are invited back to the Park:
Please pick up and pack out all hay and manure.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
If you have questions contact Star @ 480-510-6713. PLEASE BE AWARE - IF YOU COME IN ON FRIDAY, YOU MAY NOT RIDE THE TRAIL AS THE OBSTACLES WILL BE IN PLACE. There are other areas you can ride. A photographer will be at the ride to take everyone``s pictures on trail. You can purchase pictures from the website. The ride will be staged on a 10 acre lot. Dry camping is available. There are no stalls available. Horses may be in portable pens or tied to trailer. Bring food and water for your horse. Bring a chair, sunscreen, hat and bug spray for you and your horse.

Open pays $525 in cash. Pleasure and Junior awards 1st - 6th place.

Fees payable online:
CTC entry fee - $53 pleasure/$78 open/$43 junior/$40 Adult buddy/$35 junior buddy. If you are bringing a buddy please have them sign up the morning of the ride. New membership fee - $25 individual $40 family of 2

$7.00 park entry fee, paid directly to McDowell Mountain Park. If you have a parks pass entry is free. If you come early to camp there is a. Check with the park for fees.
Directions:
From the north. East of Dynamite Blvd (turns into Rio Verde Drive). Stay on Dynamite/Rio Verde through the town of Rio Verde and follow road to the park.
From Fountain Hills, go north on either Fountain Hills Blvd or Saguaro. These roads intersect and turn into Mc Dowell Mountain Park Road. Go north about 3-4 miles to park entrance. There will be signs or ask the park ranger at the gate.
Registration for the ride will close March 18, 2010 (2 days before the ride).
