Enjoy over hundred miles of mountain trails here in the beautiful Brushy Mountain area of the Blue Ridge. The terrain is challenging but not too tough for an adventurous beginner. Due to the rocky terrain shoes are nescesary. We have primitive camping on site with water.  A 15 minute ride from the farm is Love Valley with stalls, and full hookups available.  Visit www.lovevalley.com to check out their facilities.

There are plenty of rides in our region of ACTHA...so ride for the regional $2,500 award and the $10,000 year end rider award!! All Pleasure and Open riders elligible! This part of your standard entry.

 But don`t forget it`s not a timed event..no rush, mainly a fun "skills" challenge on a lovely 6 mile trail.

Proceeds to benefit Horse Rescue!! We and the rest of our Carolina Rescues need YOUR help.

Check-in Friday evening or Sat morning before 8:30am
Breakfast: 8:00am
Rider`s briefing: 9:00am
Ride out: 10:00am - 11:00am ... Civilized or what!!!
Trail will take about 2 - 2 1/2 hours, 6-7 miles

Awards following the ride.
Bar-B-Q and Bluegrass following the ride.


Breakfast menu - Sausage and egg biscuits, Coffee, Juice, Donuts.
Lunch menu - Barbeque pork and chicken, baked beans, potato salad, tea and soft drinks


Entries limited to first 100.
$525 in cash awards & great prizes for 1st - 6th place.

Fees payable online:
CTC entry fee - $53 pleasure/$78 open/$43 junior/$40 Adult buddy/$35 junior buddy
New membership fee - $25 individual; $40 family of 2; $75 family of 4

Fees collected at check-in: meals, $5 breakfast and $6 lunch or $10 for both.


Additional contests will be:
Best dressed male/female
Best groomed horse

From Statesville, get on I-40 west .  exit on hwy 115 (exit #150) north.  go approximately 12 miles and take Mountain View Road to the left  when you get to the fork with the Love Valley Cowboy Capitol sign.Pass Love Valley Rd and go another 2 miles crossing the Alexander County line and look for Liles Lane on the Right. Take Liles Lane to the end of the pavement and take the driveway to the right into the front yard of Buzzard`s Roost.

Registration for this ride will close _Sept.24_(2 days before the ride date).
